Mokokchung, May 10 (EMN): In view of the reported Covid-19 positive cases in Jorhat district of Assam, the deputy commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir, has ordered sealing of inter-state gates in the district.
In an order, the DC stated that the inter-state gates at Tzutapela and Watiyongpang are hereby sealed without any exception, and all movements of people and vehicles banned with immediate effect. He warned that any person/group acting in violation of the order would be punished under section 188 of IPC.
bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]According to the DC, the inter-state gates will become operational only after ‘thoroughly verifying’ that positive cases have been contained in the neighbouring district of Jorhat in Assam.
Assam’s Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had, on May 9, tweeted that three persons, including an ambulance driver from Mumbai, have tested positive for Covid-19 in Jorhat. The driver was sent back to Mumbai, and the other two persons were at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, he added.
