Mokokchung Police arrests three persons with contraband

Mokokchung, May 27 (EMN): Mokokchung Police arrested three persons in possession of contraband items on separate occasions.

An update from PRO, Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung stated that on May 22, one person namely Lipokakun T Ao S/o late Dr. C Tarep of Mopungchuket village presently residing in Khermahal, Dimapur was arrested for possession of illegal suspected brown sugar (approximately 27 gram). A case has been registered at Mokokchung Police Station-I.

In another case, Ronglila (36 years) D/o Thsadangba from Kiding village of Tuensang district was arrested with 25.68 grams of suspected brown sugar during a surprise checking on a night super bus at Mokokchung-Tuensang road around 1:30 am on May 26. The items were concealed in two soap cases, it was informed. A case has been registered at Mokokchung Police Station-II in this connection.

Again, on May 27, Mokokchung Police intercepted a truck near Alichen, Mokokchung and recovered 15 cases of IMFL MC Rum and three cases of can beer concealed inside a secret compartment. The driver of the vehicle, Babu Mudi S/o Puna Mudi PO/PS Chingajan under Golaghat district, Assam was arrested and a case has been registered at Mokokchung Police Station-II.
