Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament from March 17

Mokokchung, Feb. 7 (EMN): The second Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament organised by the Youth Association Marepkong (YAM) on the theme, “Towards Excellence” will commence from March 17 to the 27th at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
The organising committee convener Bendangnukshi informed this during a press conference at AKM Conference Hall on Friday.
YAM said that the Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament is exclusively for the wards in Mokokchung so that it would be a springboard for young talents in town to expose and promote football. They asserted that their intention is to groom and nurture the young talents from the grassroots level.
YAM has successfully conducted that the first tournament last year where 15 wards participated and Arkong lifted the first title. This year too, the organisers are in high hope that more wards will participate in the tournament since partaking in this tourney is a matter of honour and pride for respective wards.
YAM informed that champion will receive a cash amount of INR 50000 plus trophy while the runners-up will walk away with a cash prize of INR 30000. YAM also added individual prizes such as best goalkeeper, best defender, highest goal scorer and player of the tournament will be up for grab. Forms for the tournament will be issued from February 10 onwards.
