Mokokchung Inter-ward Beat Contest’ to stage on Dec 17

Come December 17, and Mokokchung town will be taken back to the times of the Eighties rock music, a genre that inspired a generation of musicians in the town, as a group of young professionals, opens the stage for the Mokokchung Inter-ward Beat Contest’ at Town Hall, Mokokchung.
The organizers – Temulonger Telok – which is formed by nine youths from diverse fields, predominantly entrepreneurs and musicians, who share a common love for the eighties rock music have decided to bring back the tantalizing experience of rock music in the town.
The Temulonger Telok with its motto ‘Parading of Change’ has received the active support of all the Ward Councils of Mokokchung town and elaborate preparations are underway. There will be only one entrant from each Ward who will be performing two songs from the eighties’ rock genre, and the ‘winning song’ will be the eternal Queen hit ‘I want to break free’. There will be guest bands and other guest appearances.
The main objective of organizing the beat contest, according to the organizers, is to bring back the love for rock music, a genre of music which the older generation has much love and constantly listen to even in the present day.
Besides, the organizers maintain that rock music is a genre of music which is timeless and beautiful for all ages; keeping this in mind, the organizers has chosen the theme for the December 17 beat contest as “Music a life, a soul to everything”.
There will be exciting cash prizes for the winners, especially for the ultimate winner who will be awarded handsome cash prize and a running trophy. The entry form submission which is being taken care of by the respective ward councils has been extended till the 10th of December.
