Mokokchung gets new CMO office
Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): A newly constructed office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mokokchung, considered to be the biggest CMO office in the State, was inaugurated on June 26 in the presence of the Principal Director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Vikeyie Losu as a special invitee.
In his speech, the Principal Director remarked that Mokokchung has a good team of doctors and medical staff. He urged them to give their best and support one another so that people in the district are benefited through the good work rendered by the department.
Stating that new programmes are introduced every year, he said it should be the duty of all concerned to take upon them as a challenge by keeping in mind that even those living in far flung areas in the district are benefited.
The Principal Director mentioned that, besides the construction of the new CMO office, the District Hospital (IMDH) is also in the process of up-gradation. He said many changes such as up-gradation of machineries and construction of new buildings are on the pipeline which would be big assets and beneficial for the people of the district.
He urged the different health units in the district to come forward and give their best by keeping in mind that ‘Service to men is service to God.’
Speaking on behalf of the district administration, SDO (C) Mokokchung, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, asked the staff to take good care of the office building saying, “We are the government and the building belongs to us.” He said it should be the bounden duty of everyone to safeguard and maintain the office as their own thereby leaving good legacy for the younger generations.
Short speech was delivered by the vice president of Ao Senden, while the pastor of MTBA, Rev. Ponen, said the invocation. The welcome speech was delivered by CMO Mokokchung, Dr. ChubalaAier, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Deputy CMO, Dr. Kibangkumba and the programme was chaired by the Medical Superintendent, IMDH, Dr. P Medemmayang.
