Mokokchung DPDB resolved to adopt TB patients, approved three societies and discussed anti-drug awareness initiatives.

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall on June 26 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by a discussion on the action taken report.
In a significant humanitarian initiative, the board resolved to adopt tuberculosis (TB) patients to provide nutritional support.
Members unanimously agreed that every department in the district would adopt at least two TB patients.
To facilitate the initiative, it was decided that financial contributions for nutritional support would be collected through District Planning Officer N Chuba Phom and subsequently handed over to the Medical department through the DPDB.

The board also reviewed and approved applications for the registration of three local societies: Society for Economic Elevation and Development (SEED), Changdang village; MI-Tzü Sustainable and Conservation Society, Alongkima; and Falcon Club, Mangkolemba.
The meeting featured a presentation on social awareness and drug prevention. Assistant Commissioner and Nodal Officer for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), Dr. Madhavi R, highlighted the observance of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The executive engineer of the Water Resources department presented a PowerPoint presentation on the department's ongoing activities and infrastructure projects.
The board entrusted the Rural Development department with presenting its activities at the next DPDB meeting.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Commissioner, who expressed gratitude to all board members for their cooperation and financial support towards achieving a TB-free district.
