Mokokchung, Kohima DPDB meeting reviews department activities
MOKOKCHUNG — The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September was held on Tuesday at the DC conference hall under the chairmanship of advisor, Water Resources, Tongpang Ozukum.
At the outset of the meeting, the board reviewed the minutes of the last DPDB meeting regarding the hosting of a civic reception for the chief minister of Nagaland and the shifting of the NST office to ISBT Yimyu.
The CMO and the district agriculture officer shared PowerPoint presentations on departmental activities, as proposed at the previous DPDB meeting. The members, led by the chairman, held a discussion on some of the issues facing the departments.
During the meeting, the board decided to submit a proposal to designate Mokokchung Law College as a government-aided college as well as an application to change the nomenclature of Mangkusong Govt. Primary School, Ungma, to Sademmeren Govt. Primary School, Ungma.
Applications for registration of new societies—Sungratsu Army Association (Sungratsu village) and Likum Welfare Society (Salangtem Ward, Mokokchung)—and an application for recognition of Moria Mission Jubilee School, Longsa, were also decided to put forward.
The chairman made the members aware of the rise in substance abuse (drugs) in the state, which he deemed a serious social concern. They were also informed that the departments of Road and Bridges (PWD) and Fisheries would be presenting PowerPoint presentations at the next DPDB meeting.
Kohima: The monthly DPDB meeting of Kohima was held on Tuesday at the DPDB conference hall in Kohima.
The agenda discussed at the meeting, which was attended by Kropol Vitsu, advisor, Prison, Printing and Stationery and chairman DPDB, and Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA, were applications for society registration received from Kekhame Babuzho, Lerie Colony, and Dziese Khrotho, Kitsubozou Colony.
The members deliberated and accordingly recommended Dziese Khrotho for further perusal for registration, while Kekhame Babuzho is kept in abeyance. The screening committee was requested to prepare the necessary check list apart from existing government guidelines to be more meticulous while dealing with matters relating to society registration and present it at the next DPDB meeting.
The other agenda item discussed was the establishment of SDAO office under the Jakhama sub-division, for which the members entrusted the district agriculture officer, Kohima, with preparing a detailed feasibility report in consultation with the DPDB chairman and allied departments and submitting it at the next DPDB meeting.
During the meeting, the chief veterinary officer, Kohima, gave a PowerPoint presentation. The SDRF will give its PowerPoint presentation at the next DPDB meeting.
ADC Kohima Rhosietho Nguori presided over the meeting.
