Mokokchung District Football Association attains 25 years

Mokokchung, Sep. 30 (EMN): Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) on September 29 celebrated its 25 years anniversary at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School Auditorium.
The silver jubilee programme was attended by founding members, life Members of MDFA and clubs affiliated with MDFA. Alem Jongshi, Former President, MDFA spoke on the topic ‘MDFA in the Next 25 years.’
In his approached, he said MDFA must produce disciplined players in the next 25 years who will be responsible and respectable players and will become an asset for the society.
He was of the view that with many young players in the field we cannot achieve 100 percent target to convert them into good footballers but at least through the game of football, we can produce disciplined players.
“When we have worthy citizens who are disciplined, the world will be a better place for excel,” Jongshi hope.
Saying that a footballer career lives for a limited period only, he said during this period the MDFA should try to discipline the players and build their character so that it would ultimately add surplus bonus in his life.
He further asserted that performance in the field and fitness is also important but most importantly MDFA needs character building through the game of football. Lamenting that we are good starter but unfortunately we are bad at finishing, he also challenged the MDFA members to put more effort to a good start and put in a good finishing realizing their vision for football in the District.
The programmed was followed released of jubilee souvenir and the unveiling of new silver-plated trophy cup of MDFA by I Sashi Pongen, the first general secretary of MDFA which was dedicated by Temsuwati Kichu, Associate pastor MTBA. Earlier, homage to the departed colleagues of MDFA was observed and Citation certificates were given former officials who served MDFA during the course of 25 years.
MDFA president Apong Jamir delivered the welcome address; ADC Mokokchung W Manpai Phom said the jubilee greeting on behalf of the Mokokchung District Sports Council and MDFA as i Remember was delivered by Bendangyanger, Life Member MDFA.
