Dimapur, Oct. 17 (EMN): The electoral establishment of Mokokchung has issued a circular to voters in the district informing them about changes in the schedule of the summery revision of photo electoral rolls and the electors’ verification programme.

The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates on Thursday informing about the development.

The district’s election officer Rajesh Soundararajan informed that the Election Commission of India had revised the schedule for summery revision of photo electoral rolls with regard to January 1 2020 as the qualifying date, and the electors’ verification programme or EVP, the IPR stated.

The commission has extended the period of completion of the EVP and accordingly changed the schedule for the Special Summery Revision for 2020.  The EVP and other pre-revision activities are extended and till November 18 2019. Publication of integrated draft electoral roll is to be done by November 25 2019. The period for filling claims and objections are from November 25 and till the 24th of December 2019.

Further, the disposal of claims and objection are to be by January 10 2020 while the preparation of supplements is to be done by January 17 2020. The final publication of the electoral roll will be on January 20 2020.

The block level officers (BLO) shall do the verification work with assistance of the BLO app, the updates stated. However, where the BLO App is not working, the officials will have to do house-to-house verification in necessary formats and in hard copies, the IPR stated.

The IPR stated: ‘Four formats for house-to-house verification ie. Format-I (for existing electors), Format-II (for “unenrolled” eligible citizens), Format-III (for feedback on existing polling stations), Format-IV A (for prospective electors, who will be eligible in SSR, 2020) and Format-IV B (for prospective electors, who will be eligible in SSR, 2021) have been devised and the same are being sent to all concern.”

No separate handbill is required to be given or collected by the BLO as the necessary fields of handbill have been included in Format-I, the IPR stated.

Authentication with a document in respect of head of the family will be sufficient in respect of entries of all other family members for the Electors Verification Programme, the IPR stated.
