Mokokchung conducts activities to promote girl child

Dimapur, July 14 (EMN): The Mokokchung district administration and the district-level centre for women – Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Mokokchung, carried out various online competitions during the month of May and June under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP).

The various competitions consisted of father and daughter selfie competition, skit competition based on ‘World Day Against Child Labour’, debate competition based on women,and home music video of girls’ band, an update stated.

The press release stated that all the winners were awarded with cash prizes and certificates while the participants were also awarded with certificates and gift hampers.

It further stated that girl toppers of HSLC and HSSLC from government schools of the district as well as the state toppers among the girls from the district were awarded with cash and certificates as part of the BBBP campaign.

Besides, the best performing Anganwadi workers from all the six ICDS projects were also felicitated with cash prizes along with certificates on July 14, read the statement.

Hoardings appreciating the women frontline workers of Covid-19 were put up at different junctions in and around Mokokchung district, it added.
