Mokokchung BJP helps the needy amid lockdown
Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): Responding to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to help the poor and needy during the nationwide lockdown, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Mokokchung district has undertaken a relief initiative in the district.
Informing this in a press release on Wednesday, the district party media cell said Mokokchung BJP Covid-19 control centre was set up with its vice president Nukshi I Ozukum as convener, S Moa Imsong and T Anungla as members.
The team provided rice and lentils to the needy families in the town and also donated a bag of rice and lentils to all the ward councils in appreciation of their efforts in combating the virus.
The relief materials was donated by its president Imolemba Jamir, MLA Dr. Longri, who is also the district in-charge and party workers, it informed.
The ST Morcha of the district distributed refreshments to the frontline workers and the Minority Morcha of the party also provided free meal to the stranded migrants in Mokokchung town.
‘The president who supervised the whole relief initiatives, assured that the BJP government at the centre and also the party at the grass root level will ensure that we will overcome this virus together, and that the Mokokchung BJP will always be there, as always, to fight for and ensure the wellbeing of the society,’ it stated. Jamir encouraged all the BJP workers and officials to work tirelessly and contribute, to the PM CARES fund, so as to enable the nation to overcome the threat of the virus.
Meanwhile, the Mokokchung BJP appreciated the Mokokchung District Task Force, the district administration, doctors and nurses, police, ward and village leaders and all the frontline workers engaged in this Covid-19 containment works.
