Mokokchung Bharat Scouts and Guides inducts DC as president

Mokokchung, Aug. 5 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner, Shashank Pratap Singh, was inducted as president of Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS&G), Mokokchung, during an induction ceremony at the DC’s office conference on Friday.
The oath taking ceremony was administered by Lipokmar DOC (S).
The DC Mokokchng in his acceptance speech said that Mokokchung District BS&G activities could not be activated earlier due COVID-19 restrictions. Singh said it is time for BS&G of the district to bounce back as restrictions have been relaxed to some extent.
He also said that Scouts and Guides is one of the oldest organisations and that BS&G is a “force multiplier for civic defense, governance and other social activities in our society.”
Pointing out that Government of India is giving more emphasis on sanitation, where stakeholders, administration, ward authority and village council are engaged, Singh added that BS&G as a voluntary organisation can play an important role in spreading awareness on sanitation.
Urging the district BS&G to be a part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in mobilization, he said a slot will be allotted to the district BS&G during the morning walk with national flag which will commence from August 8.
He further assured to promote Bharat Scouts and Guides in the district. The induction ceremony also witnessed giving away of warrant to Scout and Guide masters.
