Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): The prime minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated a new administrative section, and academic blocks for Wakching New Model College in Mon district, remotely from Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre, in Srinagar. The digital conference was conducted on February 3, updates from the DIPR informed on Monday.
The digital programme was held in the conference hall of Mon’s deputy commissioner. The DIPR stated that the minister for Higher Education & Technical Education TemjenImna Along, and member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly YM Yollow Konyak were among those who attended the event.
Speaking at the program, Imna Along thanked the prime minister and the ministry of Human Resource Development, for inaugurating the facilities. He said that the Rastriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (Rusa) had the ‘best development team,’ the updates stated.
‘Today at this digital launching programme, our prime minister spoke all over the country and traveled digitally to 70 model colleges.
We witnessed a visionary leader speaking, that is New India,’ the updates quoted Imna Along as having said during the programme. “The new Nagas should be recognised by hard work, sincerity, global attitude with traditional values.”
Legislator YM Yollow also spoke during the programme. He was said to have encouraged educated Konyak youths to work for the uplift of the community ‘rather than striving for power.’
Other dignitaries who were present during the occasion included Higher Education & Technical Education department’s secretary, Dinesh Kumar; Higher Education department’s director, Dr. I Anungla Aier; Rusa’s state project director, Menuokuolie Kire; president of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party Chingwang Konyak; Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ chairperson Awan Konyak; and a host of government officials among others, the updates added.
