Modern College in Piphema celebrated its graduation day and received the USTM Institutional Excellence award.

DIMAPUR — Modern College, Piphema, celebrated its graduation day on July 24 at the college indoor stadium.
During the ceremony, the college officially received the ‘Institutional Excellence’ award from the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) in recognition of its commitment to academic excellence and outstanding performance.
According to an update, the award was received by Dr. Vitsou Yano, Principal of Modern College, on behalf of the institution.
K Manikanta, District Youth Officer of MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, delivered the commencement address. He congratulated the graduates on reaching the milestone and encouraged them to step confidently into a new era, reminding them that life after graduation brings greater responsibilities and challenges.
Stressing the importance of faith, he urged students to trust in God, honour their parents, and remain grateful to their teachers. He noted that success is often the result of patience, perseverance, and consistent effort. He encouraged the graduates to make the best use of every opportunity, continuously upgrade their skills, embrace lifelong learning, and strive for excellence in all their pursuits.

Delivering the valedictory address, Visino Chüsi, who secured University Rank 1 from the Department of Sociology, reflected on her experiences and lessons gained at the college.
The occasion also witnessed the official release of the college magazine, “Apprise”, and a book titled “Student’s Travelogue: A Collection of Memories”. The presentation of graduates and academic achievements was conducted by Keleseno Longkumer, Academic Officer of Modern College, along with the respective departments.
Modern College produced four university rank holders this year, with two from the Department of Sociology securing first and third ranks and two from the Department of English securing first and seventh ranks.
