Modern college inaugurates campus road

Santhosh Kumar Tumkur Vijaykumar along with the faculty of Modern College after the inauguration of its campus road on Friday.


  • DIMAPUR — Modern College on Friday celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly constructed campus road. The event was attended by Santhosh Kumar Tumkur Vijaykumar, managing director of HiKOKI Power Tools India Private Limited, who officially inaugurated the road and unveiled the road inauguration monolith.

  • An update from the college stated that Vijaykumar along with other members from the organisation and well-wishers from the area also planted trees to commemorate the occasion.

  • It stated K Robvii, pastor of Mao Baptist Church Kohima (MBCK), said the invocation prayer, followed by felicitation to the guests.

  • The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Vitsou Yano, principal of Modern College, followed by songs presented by Shenyu from BA 6th semester and Modern College Students’ Union.

  • Speaking on the occasion, Vijaykumar shared the services rendered by HiKOKI for improvement of society in the past few years in the country. He also mentioned that it is the company's desire to expand its humanitarian service beyond a certain geographical area so as to reach even in far flung and remote areas such as in Nagaland.

  • He expressed hope for positive impact even in the future.

  • The college’s managing director, Pelee Hekha, presented a report on the road construction which was supported by HiKOKI Power Tools India Private Limited through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

  • It stated that a student representative, Ketouseno Vielie from BA 4th semester, shared her personal experience and expressed gratitude to HiKOKI.

  • The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Keneingulie, IQAC coordinator of Modern College.
