Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): History department of Modern College, Kohima, organised a one-day international webinar on the theme “Re-thinking gender issues: Voices of young minds” on November 3.
An update from the college stated that resource speakers Julia Gűnther, scholar at University of Vienna and lecturer at Karl Landsteiner, and Dr. Lovitoli Jimo, assistant professor at Ambedkar University, Delhi, spoke on the topic “Her (story) in history: Traditional governance systems and customary practices and laws”, while Dr. Teresa L Khawzawl, assistant professor of Anthropology from Cotton University, Guwahati, spoke on the topic “Women, work and leisure”.
It added that Dr. Resenmenla Longchar, assistant professor of History from ICFAI University, Nagaland, spoke on the topic “Gender performances and roles in Ao-Naga family system”.
The webinar was chaired by Senjano N Murry, HoD of History, and the welcome address was delivered by the college principal Dr. Vitsou Yano.
