Dimapur, April 21 (EMN): Chemistry department of Model Christian College, Kohima, organised a one-day national webinar on April 17 on the topic 'Multi-faceted research in the field of chemistry'.
An update from the college stated that the resource persons of the webinar were Dr. Biswajit Saha, scientist and assistant professor of AcSIR Advanced Materials Group Materials Science and Technology Division at CSIR- North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat, Assam, and Dr. Chubaakum Pongener, senior research associate at CSIR- North East Institute of Science and technology, Jorhat, Assam, and currently working on “Development of local clay based ceramic barrier for removal of emerging organic water pollutants”.
It stated that Dr. Biswajit Saha spoke on the 'Role of two metals in catalysis,' while Dr. Chubaakum Pongener spoke on 'Green bio-adsorbent for environmental remediation-activated carbon'.
It added that Tolivi Achumi, assistant professor and HOD of Chemistry, led the webinar, while Moasola Jamir, assistant professor of Chemistry, delivered the vote of thanks.
It further added that a total of 177 participants including professors, academicians, students from reputed colleges and universities in and out of the state, and chemists from across the country attended the webinar.
