DIMAPUR — A mock earthquake exercise at Model Christian College (MCC), Kohima, was held on Wednesday.
The drill was organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kohima, in collaboration with the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), as well as the Home Guards and Civil Defence, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
According to a press release, the drill began at 11:45 am with a warning siren and included participation from various departments, including teams from Naga Hospital, Kohima and Kezocha PHC, fire department, and SDRF.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]During the mock drill, there were various demonstrations and exhibitions on search and rescue, as well as the use of various types of fire extinguishers.
The event concluded at 2:30 pm with a debriefing from Victor Kevilhouthie Yhome, district project associate, NSDMA, who provided feedback and thanked all volunteers, incharges, students, and faculty for their participation.
The NSDMA also presented the college with a certificate of commendation.
