Mobile unit goes to citizens offering health services

[caption id="attachment_246606" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Free: Patients avail free medical services during the visit of a mobile health service, in Phek district.[/caption] Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): A group of health workers from Phek district’s national mobile medical unit (MMU) visited 11 villages during April as part of the mobile unit’s monthly tour. The health establishment of the district issued a press release on Tuesday informing about the programme. Various health services such as testing for blood sugar, and pregnancy; collection of blood smear; and malaria and sputum collection for tuberculosis was carried out during the programme, the organisers informed. About 40 patients were referred for higher facilities, while there were some who were provided with family planning services, the updates stated. Besides health care services, interactions and discourses about non-communicable diseases were given during the visits. The mobile health unit visited Sohomi, K Khuno, Phek Basa, Lozaphuhu, Lanyezho, Tuzatsu, Kizari, Metsale, Khuza, Chepoketa and Akheqwo village, the updates stated. The health team will be covering villages in other areas next month, the updates informed.
