Local music artistes in Nagaland have been endeavoring to produce original works in spite of the fact that there is no music market or systemized entertainment industry in Nagaland. Moba Inggang is an upcoming musician and one of the many dreamers in Nagaland that aspire to take their passion to a whole new, professional level. Moba Inggang, from the Konyak community, has just released a music video ‘Silent Years’
The music video was produced by CN Moe as an ‘initiative’ to promote music artists in Nagaland. ‘Silent Years’ is Inggang’s debut music video in EP form. His audio album, “The Consequence” was released in 2007. “The first album was experimental, playing with different genres, and the present video touches the soft/rock alternative genre. It was videoed by The Naga Headhunters, Nagaland,” the artist said today.
The music video features Miss Mon 2012 Esang Konyak. This video was released on YouTube on June 29 this year. “It aims to encourage music enthusiasts and young Naga youths to venture out and discover the talent in music while contributing to Nagaland music industry,” the artist said. The video is a nominee to the 5th Music Awards of Nagaland in the soft/rock alternative category.
Inggang holds a degree in Master of Divinity and resides in Dimapur. He is also a former winner of Summer Jam (in 2004) as a soloist and in 2006, with his band Ark-Covenant.
He was also one of the ten winners of the NSACS “write a song contest” in 2009. In 2012, he has also won the Hope Music Festival solo competition organized by Adonai Ministry.
Besides his music, Inggang is also a self-taught artist and painter who owns a home-based art studio called ‘Lost n’ Found Art Studio’ in Dimapur. Recently, he is one the three regional/state brand ambassadors for promotion of voters’ participation under the SVEEP programme.
