Nagaland election 2023: NDPP candidate Moatoshi says he keen to empower the youth
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate from 2 Dimapur II Assembly Constituency (AC), Moatoshi Longkumer, on Thursday announced to contest the upcoming state assembly election with the target to empower the youth in Nagaland.
Speaking at the launch of his campaign in Lengrijan, Longkumer informed that Nagaland ranked top of educated unemployed youth in India. He expressed apprehension that such a big unemployment frustration would generate and create problem for the society. He added that there was a need to focus on self-employment, entrepreneurship, skill employment and others.
Longkumer shared that during his four years in the opposition bench, he had faced difficult times as well as experienced blessings. Elaborating that he has vision for Dimapur, Longkumer admitted that he could not fulfill his vision because of being in the opposition party. However, as he has joined the ruling party, he expressed the hope to fulfill those visions if he is elected in the upcoming election.
In the field of sports, Longkumer felt that there is no consistency for which they could not become successful with that attitude. To overcome such attitude, he has stressed on the need to conduct regular tournaments in order to produce good results.
Some of his other visions included streetlights and solar lights across Dimapur II AC, good roads, and access to health insurance. Mentioning that Dimapur is considered one of the dirtiest cities, he stated that it required concerted efforts of all the citizens to address the issue. He suggested that one should not only eat and sleep but focus on how to beautify the city.
He also underlined the to fight drug menace in the state, care for the elderly, orphans and widows, and focus on the minority communities of 2 Dimapur II AC to safeguard their rights.
Also speaking on the occasion, Kughato S Aye, NDPP CEB secretary, asked the voters to focus on the development and not money during election time.
Shorts speeches were also delivered by representatives of Lengrijan Village Council and Tokheli Kikon, NDPP CEB vice president.
