Kohima, Aug. 13 (EMN):
Advisor of Information Technology, Science and Technology, New and Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon has been listed among the top 50 MLAs in the country.

Mmhonlumo’s name was featured on the Fame India-Asia Post, a survey conducted by a Hindi magazine “Fame India” about MLAs across the country that was published on August 12.

Fame India maintained that its goal was to highlight the works of individuals and organisations, who have contributed to the society, political, economic, bureaucratic, health, cultural and variety of ways. Fame India is also a platform to highlight their work as well to the world.

The magazine believed in honouring those who are doing good work and to encourage them to do better as well as to instil a sense of responsibility so that it would, in turn, inspire the common people to do something for the society, it stated.

Legislators are representatives of the important institution of democracy in their respective states and have a direct connection with the common people and are partakers of happiness and misery of its local people, it added.

While the country presently has 31 assemblies with a capacity of 4123 MLAs, 165 MLAs are laying vacant. The survey was stated to have taken on board 3958 MLAs.

Highlighting its methodology, it maintained that the survey was carried out mainly in three ways in which stake hold, online and data analytics are prominent.

Accordingly, a total of 1500 MLAs were stated to have been named in the online survey. After those names were put in the stake hold survey, a total of 150 MLAs were selected for the last round.

All those names were then put in a list by means of data analysis where their works, accounts, proposals submitted by them, bills and participation in their debate, etc. were studied in depth. After which a list of 50 prominent top legislators was prepared.

It added that the selection of MLAs in the survey was based on their popularity, working style, commitment, social concern, influence, public engagement, public interest, image as well as zero hours, attention proposals, bills presented, debate, presence in the assembly, MLA fund expenses etc.

“The results of the analytical report were included. The data available from the legislative assembly, public opinion, media reports, social media activity and the opinion of enlightened people from various fields were included in the above survey,” it stated.

The ministers and chief ministers were excluded from the survey.
Amongst the various categories that were recognised for the top 50 MLAs included motivator, influential, energetic, futurist, veteran, developing, worthy, fantastic, purposeful, icon, strong and others. Kikon was recognised as “Artistic”.

Three other MLAs from the Northeast also made it to the list. Ojing Tasing from Arunachal was recognised as “Master,” while Mrinal Shaikia from Assam as “Forerunner” and Aditya Gole from Sikkim as “Ujjwal”.
