Eight legislators namely S Chuba Longkumer, Parliamentary Secretary of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry; Kejong Chang, Parliamentary Secretary of Horticulture, DB & GB; YM Yollow, Parliamentary Secretary of CAWD; L Khumo, Parliamentary Secretary of LR, VG & Women Development; Er. Levi Rengma, Parliamentary Secretary of Housing; Naiba Konyak, Advisor of NBDA; Dr. Longrineken, Chairman of DAN, NBRM; Amenba Yaden, Parilamentary Secretary of Industry & Commerce said this in their speeches at the get-together cum picnic of the Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO), which was held at Jalukie Students’ Union Central Park today.Addressing the youth numbering about 1200 from the valley, speakers called upon the youth to remain dedicated and active in order to bring about positive transformation in society saying youth is a period to make the right decision in life. The legislators also urged the youth against involving in politics but to cooperate with the ruling government to derive benefit due to them. Altogether, 18 villages and one town amalgamated to form the Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO). Speakers also advised the various village councils to sink their differences and to work together for the betterment of their villages and their community. They stressed that progress or downfall would largely depend on the efficiency of the village functionaries. In oblique reference to the recent upheaval on the qualification of the chief minister, speakers urged to public in the district to ignore petty drawbacks but to look into the larger perspectives on the contribution made by the State chief minister in his political career. Describing the present chief minister as most highly qualified politically, humble, cool and most approachable, they lamented and termed it shameful that such accusations originated from his home district. Speakers were vocal in their argument that such accusation was not only targeted against chief minister alone but to the whole of Naga society who was chosen to lead the government. Speakers urged the gathering to re-elect him in the ensuing general elections to continue as the chief minister beyond 2018.
