THE number of endangered animals in the natural habitat at Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), has just increased. The State Parliamentary Secretary Pukhayi Sumi donated one antelope commonly known as Serow to the Nagaland Zoological Park today. The animal was transferred from his official residence in Kohima to the Zoological Park, Dimapur, this morning.
The newest member of the Zoo was inspected by Dr. R Wati, visiting doctor of the Zoo, which was found to be in good health except for the injury to its horn. It has been housed in a temporary enclosure in the Zoological Park for the time being.
The Parliamentary, while sending the serow to the zoo, has urged upon everyone to have compassion for wildlife and protect them.
Meanwhile, authority of the Nagaland Zoological Park has appreciated the noble gesture of the State Parliamentary Secretary in conserving the wildlife.
