Kohima, Jan. 23 (EMN): Concerned with the health of the villagers and to promote quality healthcare system, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro donated essential materials to Peducha sub-centre in Kohima district on January 22.
In a meeting with youth organisation, village elders and panchayat members of Peducha village during the visit, he reminded that everyone could play an important role in spreading the message about health awareness to bring quality healthcare closer to the homes of the community.
Nakhro also urged the village authority to monitor the proper functioning of the sub-centre and co-ordinate with health personnel for its smooth and efficient functioning.
Dokho Vielie, newly elected chairman of Peducha village, mentioned that the sub-centre is functioning without the compounder since his retirement years ago. He also pointed out the need of a readily-available ambulance for any untoward incident on National Highway 29 along the village area.
It was learnt that the MLA also visited and inspected various primary healthcare centres, sub-centres and health and wellness centres in rural areas under 8th Western Angami AC and distributed essential materials and deliberated with doctors, staff and villagers on strengthening health facilities.
