MLA & Chairman of DPDB Mon, Y Mankhao Konyak visits dumping site of Mon town.

DIMAPUR — Member of Legislative Assembly & Chairman of DPDB Mon, Y Mankhao Konyak on Tuesday visited the dumping site of Mon town, which was earlier designated for legacy waste remediation efforts under SBMU-2.0.
The MLA, accompanied by the administrator and staff of Mon Town Council, visited the site to oversee and monitor the on-going work under the DRAP (Dumpsite Remediation Accelerator Programme), a DIPR report stated.

During the inspection, Mankhao expressed satisfaction with the on-going work and urged the officials of Mon Town Council (MTC) to complete the remediation of the dumpsite with the timeline set by MoHUA.
He also expressed gratitude to the Department of Municipal Affairs, Government of Nagaland, for allotting two new vehicles during 2024-2025 to the MTC to increase door to door collection of garages.
Further, he urged the public of Mon town to practice waste segregation at home and to minimise use of plastics and other harmful materials so that the quantity of waste coming to the dumpsite is reduced and also to prevent fresh waste from entering the dumpsite.
