MLA Lima Onen assesses cyclone damage

DIMAPUR — MLA Lima Onen Chang of the Noksen Assembly Constituency convened a meeting on Saturday at the SDO (C) office, Noksen, in Tuensang to discuss the situation caused by the cyclone on May 24.

According to a DIPR report, Lima, speaking at the meeting, emphasised the need for a faster response and conducted a spot inspection of the destroyed houses and institutions in Noksen town, Noksen village, and Litem village.

Further, monetary relief was provided to the disaster victims and he assured them that all possible assistance would be provided.

SDO (C) Noksen, Saratho Katiry, reported on the occasion that a total of 65 houses were completely damaged, while 41 were partially damaged, in addition to numerous pigsties, granaries, and huts.

Key locations such as the PHC building, Anganwadi centre, St. Thomas Parish, NAP station buildings, and GPS Litem were among those destroyed by the cyclone, as reported by Katiry. He also lauded the MLA for his intervention.
