KOHIMA — Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA), Kevipodi Sophie, on Friday inaugurated ‘Fun World,’ a play area for kids and café, at PH Park Emporium, opposite the Smart City parking building in PR Hill, Kohima.

Expressing happiness about the establishment of such a facility in the heart of Kohima city, Sophie commended the innovative ideas to create a welcoming atmosphere for children’s entertainment. He anticipated that the presence of a play area in the town would foster opportunities for children to gather, share knowledge and learn from one another while enjoying themselves.

Beyond amusing young ones, he expressed hope that the café attached to the play area would meet the needs of adults as well. He extended his best wishes for a prosperous future to Vimeyie Kulnu, the proprietor, who is also a youth.

The siblings of Vimeyie Kulnu announced their intention to hire five local youth to manage the facilities besides two attendants dedicated to overseeing the play area designed for toddlers and older children.

Recognising that children today often emulate their parents’ screen-centric habits due to technologies like mobile phones and computers, the play area aims to promote physical health by encouraging interaction and engagement with others during playtime.

‘Fun World’ offers a diverse range of play equipment including a double-decker, velcro wall, sand pit, dollhouse, hospital, shivering bridge, merry-go-round, trampoline, ball pool, tunnel, slider and more.

On the other hand, the café will serve a variety of beverages including tea and coffee as well as family thali meals, a selection of sweets tailored for children etc.

For toddlers, the charge for using the play area would be INR 250 per hour, INR 300 for one hour and 30 minutes and INR 350 for beyond two hours.

For children, the rates are INR 300 per hour, INR 350 for one hour and 30 minutes, and INR 400 for two hours and beyond. Adults (caretakers for kids) would be charged INR 150.

The facility will be open from Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from 12:30 pm to 7 pm.

Rev. Fr. Vimedo Joseph and Ketholeho Kulnu invoked blessings upon the facilities. Vishito Kulnu, the proprietor, explained the various amenities at the play area and cafeteria to the participants.
