MLA inspects damaged bridge

[caption id="attachment_141875" align="alignleft" width="300"] Parliamentary secretary, Zhaleo Rio along with party functionaries of 5 Ghaspani-II assembly constituency during inspection to the damaged bridge on September 29.[/caption] Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): Parliamentary secretary of Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, and NPF party office bearers of 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency along with the village units including Vihokhu village and surrounding village visited Balijan bridge on Niuland road on September 29, which was washed away by flash flood on September 27. The village authorities and NPF party workers at the site requested the parliamentary secretary to take up the reconstruction work of the bridge and also provide alternative road connectivity by way of improvement/ strengthening works of the existing alternate roads from Vihokhu village to Suhoi village junction and from Seithekiema 'C' village to Old Showuba village junction in order to have light vehicle worthy road to reach Dimapur town for carrying out day to day work. After inspection and patient hearing, the parliamentary secretary assured to present their genuine case by calling on the chief minister and the R&B minister to do whatever is possible at government level for both temporary and permanent measures. It may be mentioned that the two lane State Highway through Balijan bridge on Niuland road is the main life line for people of Niuland sub-division and EAC administrative headquarters for Nihokhu, Aghunaka and Ralan sub-division in Wokha district.
