Mokokchung, August 7

MLA from 23 Impur A/C Dr Imtiwapang Aier paid a surprise visit to Kubolong High School, about 25 kilometers from Mokokchung town, on August 6 and interacted with the students and the teaching faculty. On reaching the school, which is supposedly the oldest government high school in Impur constituency and due to celebrate its golden jubilee in 2017, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier visited each classroom and interacted with the students before meeting the teachers.
During his interaction with the teaching faculty, the MLA was informed that the staff and faculty of the school were contributing among themselves ten percent of their salary for the upkeep of the school as there were no funds available from government sources for the school’s maintenance. The school also lacks the most basic of amenities like lavatory and toilets, neither for the students nor for the staff, the teachers lamented.
The school administration also informed the MLA that there is a shortage of science teacher in the school and requested him to look into the matter.
The MLA, while observing that the school building needs major repair, assured the school administration that he will accord priority to help the school in all possible ways. He also assured to help the school celebrate a grand Golden Jubilee in 2017.
Further, he acknowledged the unrelenting efforts of the teachers for betterment of the school and encouraged them to be dedicated and sincere in their profession and to give their best to inculcate quality education to the students.
