Wokha, March 11 (EMN): NPF legislator, Dr. Chumben Murry, has expressed happiness to note improvement made on infrastructure and developmental aspects including education, road, water supply system and health sectors in Wozhuro range in Wokha district despite its remote location and called upon the residents to correct lapses for further development.
Dr. Murry stated this during the 25th anniversary celebration of Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) of Wozhuro headquarters, organised by the Wozhuro Range Public Organisation (WRPO) on March 11. He expressed delight to note various improvement made on infrastructure and development aspects in recent times. Dr. Murry also lamented his inability to help the people of his constituency as expected by virtue of being in the opposition bench.
Stating that celebration of jubilee is a time to retrospect on the level of progress made in the society, Dr. Murry reminded the public to correct lapses in order to usher in development in the society.
Talking on economic sustainability, Dr. Murry urged the people to acquire adequate knowledge by approaching the concerned departments related to agri and allied sector for their economic sustainability. He was of the opinion that adopting modern knowledge in the farming could yield better production and enhance the economy of the farmers. He also called upon the church leaders to reach-out to the villagers with new innovative ideas in order to help the people improve their lifestyle.
Dr. Murry also unveiled the 25th silver jubilee monolith, while the dedication of the monolith was done by Lipenthung, pastor of Shaki Baptist Church.
The deputy commissioner of Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, has lauded WRPO for coming forward in unity to commemorate the event. He called upon the people to foster peace and unity for progress and development by leaving aside religion and social differences.
The additional secretary of Science and Technology, Wonchio Odyuo, and the president of WRPO president, Thechamo Tsanglao, also spoke on the occasion.
