DIMAPUR — MLA C Kipili Sangtam has condoled the passing of Dr. Huskha Yepthomi, the working president of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), who passed away on May 21 at Zion Hospital in Dimapur.

In a condolence note, Sangtam stated that the passing of Yepthomi is a great loss for Naga society in general and Sümis in particular, and that his death has left a void in society.

He stated that his contribution and work would be remembered in the annals of history and prayed that Almighty God would bring comfort to the bereaved family.

Nagaland GB (Village Chiefs) Federation

The Nagaland GB (Village Chiefs) Federation also expressed sorrow over the passing of Yepthomi.

In a condolence note, it said that Yepthomi was a man of principle and an honest personality who had stewarded the regional political party in Nagaland for decades.

“He was a regionalist who pioneered the spirit of regionalism in Nagaland politics. He had served in various capacities in civil and tribal organisations,” it read, adding that in his demise, they lost a great leader and a fatherly figure.

Sümi Hoho

The Sümi Hoho, in a condolence message, said that Yepthomi was a prominent leader among the Sümi, a dedicated and eloquent orator who devoted his entire life to the welfare of the people.

“His demise is a significant loss for the Sümi community in particular and the Nagas in general,” it read, adding that the void left by his passing will take a long time to fill.
