Peren Division NPF
The Peren Division NPF has endorsed the decision taken by NPF president Dr Shürhozelie against seven elected members and dropping of ministers and parliamentary secretaries by Chief Minister TR Zeliang from the ministry. In a release issued by its president Haigam Kauring and general secretary Teitui Iheilung today, the Peren Division NPF asserted that it will always abide by the party constitution and continue to work under the leadership of party president Dr Shürhozelie and Chief Minister TR Zeliang.
On joining of NPF legislator from 6 Tening Assembly constituency Namri Nchang the dissident group, the Peren Division NPF clarified that he has neither consulted nor met any of the division leaders or party workers to discuss the matter. As such, his joining the dissident group is not recognized by the party, the release said. The Peren Division NPF therefore urged the dissident group to release Namri Nchang from ‘forceful confinement’ and give him a fair chance to meet the party workers and clarify his actual position for further necessary action.
NPF Farmers’ Wing
The NPF Farmers’ Wing has strongly endorsed the decision of NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezetsu in suspending the seven legislators from the party. The Farmers’ Wing stated that the action of the president against the seven dissidents was in complete accordance with the party constitution, according to a release issued by NPF Farmers Wing president Lanukaba and vice president Khongo today.
The release asserted that the mandate of the people for NPF will not be compromised for the vested interest of a few and added that it will be very unfortunate for the Naga people if the peace process is derailed at this juncture.
The NPF Farmers’ Wing has also reposed full confidence on the chief ministership of TR Zeliang and the stability of the DAN government and in absolute unity of the NPF party under the presidentship of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezetsu.
NPF 5 Ghaspani II A/C
The NPF, 5 Ghaspani II A/C, has expressed pain and resentment for what it called unwarranted suspension of MLA Zhaleo Rio from the NPF party in the present political scenario of the State. It urged the NPF party to revoke and rescind the suspension order immediately and pave way for democratic political process to take place accordingly. The NPF, 5 Ghaspani II A/C further said as party workers of the constituency, they pledge wholehearted support to the leadership of G Kaito Aye.
It said it was totally surprised that the esteemed president of NPF (Central) exercised his powers arbitrarily and ultra vires in serving the suspension order to the MLA without any rhyme or reason.
NPF Phek Division Women Wing
The NPF Phek Division Women Wing has appealed to party president Dr. Shuhozelie Leizietsu to revoke the suspension order issued against the seven NPF legislators, saying that a movement to change leadership within the party is a democratic exercise and does not amount to anti-party activity in any manner as these NPF leaders have not joined Congress or any anti-party.
“Hurling of accusation at the majority NPF group by others as anti-party, the Phek divisional women wing has questioned the move of the president and the Chief Minister to rein in Congress Legislators to form coalition Government when there is clear cut majority within the NPF party is nothing less than committing anti-party and is not in tune with the NPF party principal,” NPF Phek Divisional Women Wing president Jonelu Sapu said in a release today.
The Women Wing also stated that NPF is a people’s party which belongs to all Nagas and hence taking disciplinary action against its own members without proper consultation with other party members is way too extreme as NPF party is not governed by a dictator.
It further urged the president as father of the NPF party to reconsider the harsh decision issued against the seven NPF legislators as all of them are true patriotic sons of the NPF party and said hence they should be equal recipients of compassionate love from the father of NPF family.
