According to Dr. Velankanni Alex, the teacher in-charge for the outreach activity and Nai Talim, the visit was held to enable the student-teachers to develop awareness on the “Learning through engagement and handicraft for life,” an update stated.
Ninety-eight 98 student-teachers from the second semester (B.Ed) and seven teacher educators who arrived at Khonoma village in the morning visited St. John Bosco School, and interacted with students. They also conducted exercise therapy, games and a workshop on crafts.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]“Afterward, they divided into four groups and participated in collecting data from the community on unemployment, women empowerment, and other areas with the help of the Khonoma Village Council President and Students’ Union members,” the update stated.
The student-teachers interacted with the Khonoma villagers to identify their needs. They also visited handloom, black smith and craft units in the village and interacted with the skilled workers and enquired about the processes of various trades and skills.
