MITE Kohima commemorates International Firefighters’ Day

DIMAPUR — The Red Ribbon Club of Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima commemorated International Firefighters’ Day on Saturday, with Sedevizo Hibo, officer in-charge, South Fire Station, Kohima, as the special guest.

In his address, the fire officer spoke about the significance of International Firefighters’ Day and the importance of fire safety. He also highlighted the firefighters’ prayer, an update stated.

Highlights of the celebration included various competitions like essay, poetry recitation, poster making and costume display. The programme ended with a brief demonstration on the correct usage of fire extinguishers.
