DIMAPUR, AUGUST 28

A child aged around 10-12 years of age was found seated in Brahmaputra Mail train all alone on August 26. Without any idea where he was going, the boy was travelling all alone by the Brahmaputra Mail bound for Delhi.
When a co-passenger from Kuki community discovered the boy alone, he became suspicious and took his photo. He circulated his photo through social networking sites. The boy who was travelling without any belongings and money identified himself as Chingaok Phom and stated that he is a Naga from Mon area.
After the information was received through social networking sites, the matter was brought to the notice of Eastern Naga Students Union Delhi (ENSUD) who then alerted all the railway stations.
Through conversation with the boy, it was learnt that he is the son of Beau Phom from Yongnyah village under Longleng district. The boy said he climbed on a truck from Mon and travelled till Dimapur and on reaching Dimapur he boarded the Brahmaputra Mail.
The child was said be living with his uncle at Mon. As per the boy, he left his uncle’s house as he had some issues with his uncle’s family. No missing report of the boy was lodged in any police station.
After the all the railway stations on way to Delhi were alerted, the boy was rescued at Allahabad railway station by Railway Protection Force (RPF) today. After necessary formalities, the boy was handed over to Dr. Hentok Phom, MD, Nagaland House, New Delhi.
