Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): Reigning Miss Nagaland, Vikuonuo Sachu, along with the Peraciezie Youth Organisation (PYO) and Lower Bayavü Youth Organisation (LBYO) organised a cleanliness drive at High School junction in Kohima on August 26 on the theme “Beauty with a purpose.”
Speaking about the motive behind the event, Sachu said, “We cannot make this pandemic a reason to stop working but rather find an opportunity to work with discipline. Community work isn’t just done for the sake of having a title in the society but a self-dedication that an individual should celebrate in serving.”
She added that the only way to prevent oneself from the virus is to maintain proper hygiene, an update stated.
She maintained that it is imperative to translate ‘our words into action.’ She went on to add that keeping oneself clean is important but ‘people often tend to neglect the fact that the route that they pass-by could also contain unhealthy properties.’
She stated that with the help of Peraciezie Youth Organisation and Lower Bayavü Youth Organisation members, they have sanitised and cleaned the entire High School junction area.
She chose to clean the area because it is one of the most crowded and popular market place in Kohima, the statement read.
