Miss Nagaland graces Adolescent Health prog

DIPR DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 10 An awareness programme on Adolescent Health was held at Government Hr Sec School Seikhazou, Kohima by NRHM in collaboration with Beauty & Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN). Miss Nagaland 2013, Benjongmenla Jamir, who is also the ambassador of Adolescent Health, while addressing the students said that physical well-being is of great importance and is crucial when one is growing up. She also said the adolescent age is an important period in a girl’s life as it is in this phase that one begins to understand several aspects of life more profoundly. “This is the period when one opens their minds to the broader issues concerning the society and what we learn and how we grow is our adolescence will go on to impart the person we become in future, and in order to achieve this we need good health and most of all to believe in oneself,” Jamir said. While expressing hope that every adolescent grow from strength to strength and march forward with much zeal and enthusiasm, Jamir also encouraged the students to learn as many things as possible to keep as many good virtues as possible and to achieve their goals in life and to become good leaders in the day to come. The students were also shown short TV photo on the misuse of tobacco and adolescent health. The programme was chaired by Assistant Programme Manager, AH Vizalenu Khatso, hile Member BASN Temsumenla proposed the vote of thanks. Earlier, State Programme Officer NRHM,Dr. Linu Jamir delivered the introductory speech.
