Dimapur, April 16 (EMN):
Some unidentified miscreants attempted to burn down Holy Cross School Mon by setting it on fire at around 11:30 pm on Thursday, April 15, said a police source.

A source informed Eastern Mirror that some miscreants attempted to commit arson with kerosene-socked sack, and the fire damaged a part of hostel wall before the hostellers and warden douse the fire.

The police personnel said that nobody saw the miscreants as the incident happened at night and the school is located below the road.

Earlier this month, the whole school building was burned down and an attempt was again made to destroy whatever was left, he said.

A case has been registered in connection with the incident and investigation is on.

Till now no one has been arrested. The school authorities also said that they do not have any suspects and they are clueless, the police said.

The All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Mon unit has condemned the incident.

The condemnation letter from the President and Secretary of ANPSA, Mon, stated that all private schools in Mon town will remain closed on April 17 to show solidarity and defiance to the brutal act.
