Minor girl’s body found in Dimapur

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The corpse of a minor girl, suspected to have been raped, was found near St. Clare Higher Secondary School in Phevima, Kacharigaon, Dimapur on Thursday morning.

The victim was yet to be identified till the time of filing this report.

The village council chairman of Phevima, Vitho Zao, informed Eastern Mirror that police are investigating the case.

‘Five neighbouring villages have been informed but the identity of the victim has not been ascertained yet,’ informed Zao, adding that there was ‘hardly any lead’.

Zao said that the victim was found with bruises on her neck.

“Finger prints have been taken and medical test is yet to be conducted; the body has been taken to the mortuary,” Zao.

It was informed that construction workers discovered the body around 7 am on Thursday morning.
