Ministry of Tourism invites entries for National Tourism Awards 2018-19

The Ministry of Tourism, government of India, has invited applications from individuals and organisations for excellence in the field of tourism.

The last date for receipt of entries for National Tourism Awards 2018-19 is August 10, informed the ministry.

‘National Tourism Awards are presented in various segments of travel and tourism industry such as state governments or union territories, classified hotels, heritage hotels, approved travel agents, tour operators and tourist transport operators, individuals and other private organisations in recognition of their performance in their respective fields and also to encourage healthy competition with an aim to promote tourism,’ read the update from the ministry.

It informed that applications have to be made in proper forms, wherever specified. Unless otherwise mentioned, the entries for the award should have been published or the activities undertaken during the period April 2018 to March 2019, it added.

The last date for receipt of entries in the respective divisions is August 10, 2021 at 4:00 pm and entries should be sent in hard copies and strictly in the formats mentioned, it added.

The instructions for applicants include hard copies of the entries duly signed in ink by the applicants, each entry accompanied by 100 word write-up on the entry, a high resolution photograph of the award winner or award winning entry of minimum 100 dpi for inclusion in the award brochure, if the entry wins an award, and each entry should be sent in sealed packet.

Some categories for the awards include: Best inbound tour operators; Best tourist transport operators; Best domestic tour operators; Best adventure tour operators; Best MICE operator; Best tourist guide; Best wildlife guide; Best hotels; Best heritage hotels; Best eco-friendly hotel; Hotel providing best facilities for the differently-abled guests; and Best incredible India bed and breakfast establishments.
