DIMAPUR — Describing ministerial staff as backbone of the government, member of Nagaland State Selection Board (NSSB), P Bangjung Chang, has advised the members to be sincere and diligent in their service for the benefit of every citizen.

Chang stated this during the 4th biennial conference of Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA) held at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima on Wednesday. He has urged the members to be sincere and diligent to ensure smooth and effective functioning of the government services

Chang, who was the guest speaker of the event, stated that their professionalism and expertise contribute to streamlining of processes, which would ultimately benefit every citizen who seeks assistance.

“The world of ministerial staff often goes beyond mere paperwork; they provide comfort, guidance, and support, making people’s lives more manageable during challenging times,” Chang said.

He further mentioned that their efforts may often seem overlooked, but they are the backbone of the government service, stated a DIPR report. He stated that one should be sincere and work diligently and not to take anything for granted.

He further expressed optimism that their sincere works would evolve into valuable assets for both the government and the public.

NDMSA president, I Lanusanen Jamir, mentioned that the association is two years away from reaching its golden milestone. He has credited the pioneers whose sacrifice and vision have moulded the association.

While reminding that the pioneers have encountering failures many times, he stated that they have put their heads together and strive for a better future with the objective to ‘serve and progress’ in mind.

He further stated that the association, with more than a thousand employees, is considered as the backbone of the state government. He urged the members to take pride and embrace a sense of belonging of the prestigious service cadre and to contribution to the society, whether it is big or small.

NDMSA convenor, Botovi Sema, appealed to the members to contribute towards the jubilee celebration of the association. He also asked the members to work hard in every circumstance despite the challenges to prove their worth and ensure success of the association.
