Minister to construct fencing at NZP

Forest minister Y Patton, while appreciating the progress of the lone Nagaland Zoological Park, stressed that sincere efforts should be put in to develop the Park for the people of the State and serve as a centre for wildlife conservation.The minister said this during his visit to the Park on January 11 who also met the officers and staff of the Park. He also acknowledged the increased level of conservation awareness amongst the public and urged upon the department to create and nurture the assets for public welfare. The Minister also lauded the efforts of the Director Tongpangzemba Ao for the achievements of the Park.
During the visit, the minister also inspected the area where encroachment was removed during August 2013. As promised during joint verification along with the minister for Roads and Bridges to take up construction of fencing around the evicted area, the minister informed that work for construction of fencing will be taken up immediately by the department.
This was stated in a press release issued by Obed Bohovi Swu, Officer – in – Charge of Nagaland Zoological Park.
