Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): The minister for the Public Works department, Tongpang Ozukum, and a number of officers from the department, and medical establishment and district administration visited on July 6 the upgraded primary health centres at Phangsang and Mongsenyimti village in Mokokchung district.
The minister’s office issued a press release to the media on Saturday offering updates about his visit.
Ozukum thanked the villagers especially the councils and landowners for stepping forward ‘for the common benefit of the region’s people.’ According to the press release, he appreciated the medical department for upgrading Phangsang sub-centre to a primary health centre which he said was a ‘much needed blessing’ for six villages in the Phangsang area.

“I am committed for change in all aspects based on honesty and transparency and will continue to strive for result oriented development as promised to the people,” the minister told them.
Informing about the government’s steps to introduce health and wellness centres at Phangsang and Mongsenyimti,

Ozukum asked landowners and village council members to continue cooperating with the government. He asked them to give a free hand to the departments so there will be development for the people of the area.

Iterating the People’s Democratic Alliance government’s vision to bring change to the state through development, the minister said the government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is dedicated to bringing all-round development across the state.

Dr. Kika Longkumer, deputy director for Health and Family Welfare, spoke too. In his address, he spoke about the need for infrastructure and for upgrading ‘old systems of medical care’ due to increase in population and changing health conditions.

He requested the council members and community leaders to continue cooperating with the department especially on issues of land so that primary care and infrastructure can be built at the earliest for the people.

Also, Dr. Chubala, chief medical officer of Mokokchung, thanked the minister for ‘personally visiting’ the proposed sites for the health centres. She urged the people of the area to judiciously use the facilities offered by the government and with care as it belongs to all, the updates stated.
