Dimapur, Jan. 19 (EMN): Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi, has inaugurated a water supply project to Peren new headquarter complex on January 19 as the special guest.
Speaking at the function, Zhimomi said Peren district has come a long way in many developmental works and encouraged the people to preserve and protect properties provided by the department for the benefit of the public.
A briefed technical report was presented by the additional chief engineer, Er. Repangyangba Longkumer, where he said that water supply to New Peren district headquarters cost INR 9.3 crores. The project was supported by the DoNER ministry, Government of India, under NLCPR. Total capacity of treatment plant is 1.14 million litres per day, Longkumer informed.
Deputy commissioner, Peren, S Tainiu expressed happiness and thanked the PHED for the success of the project on time. Commissioner and secretary of PHED, Dr. Maongwati, chaired the programme and also delivered the welcome note. Pastor Hekoraing invoked God’s blessing, while SE, Er. T Sangtam proposed the vote of thanks.
