Dimapur, June 4 (EMN): State minister of health and family welfare has assured to pursue with the central government more seats for MBBS and BDS from the state.
The minister has made this assurance to the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) officials which met him in his official residence on June 4.
In a joint press release, ANCSU general secretary, Vimeyiekho Vitso, and the assistant general secretary, Imnameren N Jamir stated that the minister has seriously taken into account of their demand in the larger interest of the students’ community. The minister also informed the visiting officials that a meeting was convened on the said subject with his department officials.
He has further assured writing to the union minister of health and family welfare for acquiring more MBBS & BDS seats. The minister added that he along with his officers would leave early next week to meet and pursue the matter with the higher authority at centre.
Meanwhile, ANCSU has appreciated the concerned minister for taking serious note of its representation in the larger interest of the Naga students.
