Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): A mini library was inaugurated at the government middle school (GMS) of Kidima village in Kohima district, on February 18. The library was established under the patronage of the extra additional commissioner (EAC) of Kezocha, Seyekhreito Solo.
Speaking at the occasion, Solo mentioned that education has always been a priority for him and expressed sadness to see the conditions of students in government schools. It was under such circumstances that he took the initiative to start a mini library in one of the schools under his jurisdiction, Solo said.

Solo added that with the help of some friends and teachers, they bought about hundred books handpicked for the students. He was optimistic that the books would enrich the imagination and intellect of a child. He said that he wanted the people across the state, especially in the villages, to take “quality education” seriously particularly in government schools.

Replying to query about the future of such mini libraries, he said that the project was undertaken on experimental basis. However if it works out well, he has expressed desire to start the same in other schools.
