Mini Bishu Hornbill Festival concludes in Kushiabill
The two-day Bishu Mini Hornbill festival, a post harvest festival of Kachari tribe culminated on Saturday at Kachari community playground in Darogajan.
The event was organised by Dimasa Public Organisation, in collaboration with the Tourism department, government of Nagaland.
The executive member of Dimasa Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) and special guest, Biswajit Daulagupu, has called upon the community to foster unity and maintain its identity.
He has expressed concern on the diminishing population of Dimasa community in Dimapur, who have migrated to other places after selling off their lands. He has, however, encouraged the community to preserve their culture and tradition.
A short speech was delivered by Ramesh Hasnu, president of Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN), while the chairman of Darogajan village council, PM Thaosen, shared greetings.
Cultural presentations by Darogajan cultural troupe, Amaluma cultural troupe, Doyapur cultural troupe and Karbi cultural troupe marked the programme.
