DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 21: A group called the International Youth Fellowship conducted a “mind education workshop” for the department of Education in Kohima Wednesday. The workshop was conducted for directors, professors and heads of departments from the State Council of Education, Research & Training (SCERT), the Nagaland Board of School Education, and the directorate of Higher Education, the organization stated in a press release to the media on Wednesday.
The resource person of the program was Rev. Kim Sungsam from South Korea, it was informed.
In his address, the director of the SCERT, Khreituo Mezhur, mentioned about the problems that Nagaland had been facing. “Most of the youths in our states have the pre-conception of being employed only in the government sector. This hampers the development of the state.”
‘On the other hand it is discouraging that our state is neither developing nor under development,’ he lamented and urged participants to “give their sincere attention and grasp whatever positive message the speaker delivers.”
The speaker also “stressed on the importance and necessity of the mind education as it is the vital key to lead a prosperous and healthy life and give a good impact in the society,” the press release stated.
“The aim of this mind education is not to change others or the society but oneself first. Leaders who had good mindset were able to transform and change their society and country,” the organizers explained.
The speaker also talked about success stories of three people namely Jung Ju young, the founder of Hyundai Company, and Sheikh Rashid Bin Saaed “who changed Dubai,” and Inamori Kazuo philanthropist and founder of Kyocera Corporation and KDDI Corporation .
“Besides the success stories, he pointed out the strong and healthy mindset of these leaders helped them to change their society and country,” the organizers said.
After the lecture session was over, the participants were divided into four groups. They were “able to share and discuss the importance of the mind education and representative of each group presented what they learned and discussed,” the press release stated. There were 55 participants for the workshop, it added.
