Dimapur, Nov. 18 (EMN): As part of its platinum jubilee celebration of Christianity in 2019, Mima village in Kohima district made a friendship pack with Dihoma village in order to strengthen ties between the two villages.
To mark the occasion, a friendship programme was held on November 2 in Mima village hosted by the Mima village council which was organised by a joint committee.
Addressing a huge gathering of people from both communities, Visasolie Lhoungu, chairman of Nagaland Bamboo Mission, spoke on ‘Friendship’ wherein he highlighted that friendship pertains not only to being friendly within the village walls but also being good and kind towards one another beyond boundaries and helping one another in times of need.
Also speaking at the programme, Vilelie Khamo, first class contractor, stressed on the importance of unity. He stated that even though it might be difficult to bring about unity and peace in totality, everyone should strive towards uniting at least two people as it could forge the way for greater unity.
The programme was chaired by Vizokho-o Lese, chairman of programme committee, while pastor Kho-o Pfükha invoked God’s blessings.
Affirming of friendship through exchange of the Holy Bibles was officiated by pastor Rev. Rakhu Livi with Neichüzo Keyie, MVC chairman, and Thepfuneituo Yano, DVC chairman.
A song composition to mark the day was presented by Mima women society, while the Dihoma youth presented a choral number. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Arhi Theünuo, secretary of programme committee.
